End of Year Cheer

As we emerge from one of the most challenging eras of our time, the value and privilege of travel have never felt greater. The most significant gift was to finally explore and reconnect with our beautiful planet again and get close to wildlife, people and culture. Our dream has always been to create intimate and personal encounters into the natural world and give our Wild Earth Explorers unrivalled service and life-changing experiences. And 2022 was no exception.

It felt like a breath of fresh air to lead expeditions to exotic places, share life-changing moments, and create extraordinary memories with our Wild Earth Explorers. We began our year watching wildlife from canoes and treetop towers in the Ecuadorian Amazon. We watched iridescent hummingbirds flit about us in the cloud forest and explored the depths and diversity of the underwater world among schooling hammerheads in the Galapagos. Then, in Svalbard, we cruised through the crackling icy bays and witnessed the vivid hues of blue glacier ice carve in front of us. We had intimate encounters with Polar bears, walruses snuffed and snorted curiously around our zodiacs, and we trekked up glaciers and mountains for panoramic vistas.

We came eye-to-eye with Blue sharks and schooling Mobula rays while hovering above the blue abyss and cruised alongside hundreds of playful dolphins and whales in the Azores. We snorkelled beside whale sharks, spotted camouflaged Chameleons, and listened to playful lemurs' eerie, haunting calls echo through the forest on our Madagascar adventure. We sailed through the picturesque Seychelles archipelago, met friendly Giant tortoises, dived and snorkelled with sharks, schooling batfish and countless rays. Biked along white-sand palm-fringed beaches and swam among granitic boulders in the warm tropical waters.

Soon we will be raising a glass to a year where we emerged from a dark tunnel, where no travelling was allowed and thinking of those less fortunate. Covid lockdowns are finally behind us, but the Russian war is tormenting the Ukrainian people and affecting us all in one way or another. We can only hope that this madness will soon end.

As the year comes to a close, we continue to be humbled by the fact that we get to share our love and passion for the natural world with amazing people like you. We reflect on a year that has not been easy, but we are filled with renewed hope, strength and energy moving forward. We will always be extremely grateful for the opportunity to do this, and thank you for your continued support, trust, and loyalty, especially during these past years.

We look forward to exciting new itineraries and adventures in 2023. Wishing you a happy, healthy, fun-filled, and adventure-packed new year.
